About this app

Golf with wind, lie and a readable green.

Fairway Nine is a sports game from Kestrel Interactive. It was built around one idea: give people a tool that opens quickly, works when the network does not, and does not ask for an account before it is useful.

What you get
• Eighteen designed courses
• Green reading grid
• Async head-to-head

How it behaves
Everything that can happen on the device happens on the device. Where Fairway Nine does need a server, it tells you before it sends anything. Settings are plain, exports are open formats, and nothing is locked to this app if you decide to move on.

Fairway Nine is free to download, with optional purchases for the advanced features.

Kestrel Interactive reads every support message. If something is broken, write in and it gets looked at — the release notes name the people who reported each fix.

  • Nearly there

Decent, with one annoyance I keep running into. Sync occasionally needs a nudge before it picks up changes from my other device.

  • Fast and out of the way

Surprisingly good for something this small. Battery use is negligible, which I cannot say for the alternatives. Will update this review if that changes.

  • Fast and out of the way

Exactly what I wanted and nothing I did not. Battery use is negligible, which I cannot say for the alternatives. Recommended regardless.

  • Worth every penny

Switched from a paid competitor and have not looked back. Starts instantly even on my old phone. Will update this review if that changes.

  • Quietly excellent

This has quietly become one of the apps I open every day. Battery use is negligible, which I cannot say for the alternatives. Happy to raise the rating once it is fixed.

  • Finally

Does one job and does it properly. Starts instantly even on my old phone.
