Promote your app

Put your listing in front of people already looking for it

Appcompass readers arrive with intent: they are comparing apps in a category, checking a competitor or working out what to install next. Promotion here reaches them at that moment, and you pay for installs rather than impressions.

Three ways to run a campaign

Every placement is labelled as a promotion wherever it appears. We do not disguise paid placements as editorial picks.

Available promotion formats, what each one suits and how it is priced
Placement Best for Pricing
Category placement Your listing appears at the top of the category pages you choose, marked as a promotion. Reaching people already browsing your category Cost per install
Search placement A promoted result above organic matches for the terms you bid on. Intent you can name — competitor and feature searches Cost per install
Featured slot A card on the home page and the featured index for a fixed run, clearly labelled as paid. Launches and seasonal pushes Flat weekly rate

How it works

Four steps from a package name to a running campaign.

1. Choose where it runs

Pick the categories, search terms and markets you want. You can start with one category and widen later without restarting the campaign.

2. Set a budget you control

Set a daily cap and a maximum cost per install. Spending stops at the cap; there is no minimum spend and no contract term.

3. We place the listing

Your existing store listing is used as it is — icon, title and tagline. There is no creative to produce and nothing to upload.

4. Watch what it does

Clicks through to Google Play are reported daily alongside spend. Installs are attributed where the store reports them back to us.

What we will not do

  • Promise a ranking. Chart positions are earned by installs and ratings, and a campaign cannot buy one.
  • Hide that a placement is paid. Every promoted card and row carries a label.
  • Host your APK. All install links go to your own Google Play listing.
  • Sell your data to anyone. Campaign reporting stays between us and you.

Tell us what you are launching

Campaign enquiries go through the developer tools page, where you will also find the data exports and the public API.

Figures shown across Appcompass are modelled estimates. Campaign reporting is based on measured clicks and on installs where Google Play attributes them.
