Tidewatch is a weather app from Cartogram. It was built around one idea: give people a tool that opens quickly, works when the network does not, and does not ask for an account before it is useful.

What you get
• Tide tables for 11,000 stations
• Swell and period forecasts
• Offline tide predictions

How it behaves
Everything that can happen on the device happens on the device. Where Tidewatch does need a server, it tells you before it sends anything. Settings are plain, exports are open formats, and nothing is locked to this app if you decide to move on.

Tidewatch is free to download, with optional purchases for the advanced features.

Cartogram reads every support message. If something is broken, write in and it gets looked at — the release notes name the people who reported each fix.

  • Please fix the crash

    Was great until the last update. Now it crashes whenever I open the settings screen on Android 14. Worth the money.

  • Fast and out of the way

    This has quietly become one of the apps I open every day. Battery use is negligible, which I cannot say for the alternatives. Give it a try before you pay for anything else.

    Been using this for about four months now and it has not let me down once. The offline support is the real selling point for me. Worth the money.

    Solid, but I am holding back a star for now. Sync occasionally needs a nudge before it picks up changes from my other device. Will update this review if that changes.

    Good core app, a few rough edges. The widget resets its size after a reboot. Give it a try before you pay for anything else.
