About this app

Practice lettering with guided stroke overlays.

Letterform is a art & design app from Driftwood Collective. It was built around one idea: give people a tool that opens quickly, works when the network does not, and does not ask for an account before it is useful.

What you get
• 120 traceable alphabets
• Stroke order playback
• Timed drills

How it behaves
Everything that can happen on the device happens on the device. Where Letterform does need a server, it tells you before it sends anything. Settings are plain, exports are open formats, and nothing is locked to this app if you decide to move on.

Letterform is a one-off purchase. There is no subscription and no advertising.

Driftwood Collective reads every support message. If something is broken, write in and it gets looked at — the release notes name the people who reported each fix.

  • Worth every penny

This has quietly become one of the apps I open every day. Battery use is negligible, which I cannot say for the alternatives. Happy to raise the rating once it is fixed.

  • Please fix the crash

Wanted to like this one. It logged me out and my local data did not come back. Will update this review if that changes.

  • Promising

Works well most of the time. The widget resets its size after a reboot. Happy to raise the rating once it is fixed.

  • Good with caveats

Works well most of the time. Sync occasionally needs a nudge before it picks up changes from my other device. Give it a try before you pay for anything else.

  • Fast and out of the way

  • Worth every penny

Exactly what I wanted and nothing I did not. The tablet layout is thought through rather than stretched. Give it a try before you pay for anything else.
